Our Pashminas

Our pashmina wool comes from the undercoat of the Changthangi goat, which is native to the Himalayan region of Nepal. These goats, well-adapted to the cold climate, naturally shed their undercoat during the spring moulting season, allowing artisans to collect the precious fibres through gentle combing, ensuring no harm to the animals.

Once gathered, the wool undergoes a meticulous cleaning and sorting process. Hand-cleaned to remove impurities, the wool is carefully sorted to separate the finest fibres from the coarser ones. These fibres are then hand-spun into yarn using traditional spinning wheels, preserving their delicate nature.

This intricate weaving process results in the lightweight yet warm classic pashmina. The dyes to achieve our colour palette are then carefully added to maintain the pashmina's softness. The final touch involves washing the woven pashmina to cleanse and soften the fabric further. Brushing the material enhances its luxurious texture, culminating in the exquisite pashminas that are a hallmark of Nepali craftsmanship.
